A long time ago ultra hard inserts such as PcBN (CBN), PCD, CVD and natural diamond are used successfully by lines of industry such as aerospace, automobile, mechanical engineering, plastics industry and medical engineering as well as especially in the toolroom.

New materials such as aluminium without lead addition, hardened steel starting from HrC50, super alloys as for ex. Inconell and Waspaloy have high requirements towards the cutting materials.
